Adding past performance entries
Past performance is the record of work your business has completed for prior customers. This article shows you how to add an entry and what to include.
Steps
-
From the dashboard, click Past Performance Library.
-
Click Add a Past Performance Entry.
-
Fill in:
- Customer name (the agency, prime, or commercial customer)
- Contract title
- Contract dollar value
- Period of performance (start and end dates)
- Your role (prime, sub, or joint venture)
- A description of the work in three to five sentences
- Outcome (what you delivered and how the customer rated it)

-
Upload any supporting documents (CPARS rating, customer letter, completion certificate). These help the proposal writer cite your past performance accurately.
-
Click Save.
What makes a strong entry
- Specific numbers (dollar value, headcount, schedule, outcome metrics)
- A clear customer name and a clear contract title
- A description that names the technical work, not just the contract type
- A measurable outcome (on time, under budget, increased throughput by X percent)
What to do if it does not work
If you have not done federal work, use commercial work that demonstrates similar capability. Mark it commercial in the role field. The system handles commercial past performance, with a note that it is commercial.
If you cannot remember the exact dollar value, use a range and mark it estimated.
